About Pangea

We exist because the world's best builders don't all live within an hour of San Francisco.

Pangea was founded on a single observation: Africa is producing senior engineers, designers, and product builders at a pace global companies haven't caught up to. We turned that talent density into a product — Community-as-a-Service — so any ambitious team can plug in to the continent without standing up an office, a recruiting team, or a payroll entity.

Why Africa, why now

The fastest-growing tech labor market in the world.

In the last decade, Lagos, Nairobi, Cape Town, Accra, and Kigali have built dense, compounding tech ecosystems. Local unicorns trained a generation of engineers on real production systems — payments at continent scale, telecoms infrastructure, fintech for hundreds of millions of users. That talent is now ready for the global stage.

Meanwhile, Western teams face the opposite problem: a thinning senior bench, rising comp, fewer engineers willing to relocate. The match is obvious. The friction — compliance, payroll, vetting, time zones — is what we exist to remove.

Portrait of Tobi Adeyemi

Tobi Adeyemi

Staff Frontend Engineer · Lagos

Tobi spent four years at a London fintech, leading the rebuild of their checkout flow used by 11M monthly users. He came home in 2023 and now leads a frontend chapter for a US healthtech series-B. He still ships from his apartment in Lekki, takes his daughter to school at 3pm, and reviews PRs over a cortado.

Portrait of Amara Diallo

Amara Diallo

Senior Product Designer · Dakar

Amara worked at a YC-backed startup remotely for two years before realizing the company didn't know how to give her the staff-level work her resume earned her. We placed her at a European SaaS where she now owns the design language for an entire product surface — and runs a quarterly design critique for designers across West Africa.

What we believe

Three things, applied without compromise.

Rigor

Our vetting bar matches the bar our clients use internally. If we wouldn't hire them ourselves, we don't send them.

Transparency

Honest about timelines, fit, comp, risk. No glossing, no surprise invoices, no inflated CVs.

Long-term partnership

We measure success by 12-month retention, not first-month placements. Most of our clients hire from us again within a year.
